Invite copy that survives real chat threads
Why referral messages fail in everyday messaging apps — and how to rewrite them for clarity instead of hype.
Most referral messages are written like ads. Friends forward them like favors. The gap shows up as high share taps and low accept rates. Copy that names the reward, the time limit, and the first step in one short paragraph performs better than slogans about “joining the movement.”
In Thailand, invites often travel through LINE and other chat apps where previews truncate aggressively. Lead with the concrete offer, then the brand. If the preview cuts mid-sentence, the recipient never learns what they receive.
Test two message templates with the same reward for a fortnight. Keep creative assets identical so you learn about wording, not about a new illustration. Record which template produces completed installs, not only taps.
Finally, match the tone to the product. A finance app invite should sound careful; a lifestyle app can sound warmer. Mismatched tone is a quiet reason people hesitate to forward a link to someone they know.
